Duplicating and moving reviews between products

💡 Ensure that the reviews you duplicate are verified and are real reviews for the product. Shopify does not allow the display of fake/manipulated reviews according to their Acceptable Use Policy.

If you are looking to move reviews from one product to another, you can do so by following the steps below.
1. First of all, go to the Product Reviews app and open the Import tab.
2. Click Export, wait for Preparing export to finish, then click Download to download the ZIP file. Unzip it to get the CSV. The download is available for 24 hours.
3. Open the CSV file with your preferred spreadsheet editor (Excel, Libre Calc).
4. Find the product handle of the product from which you want to duplicate or move reviews.
The Shopify product handle, if your product's URL is https://yourshop.myshopify.com/products/awesome-product, then awesome-product is the handle.
5. Delete every row except the reviews of the product you want to copy from. Then replace its product handle with the handle of the new product (the one you want to copy the reviews to).
Example: to copy reviews from product ABC (handle: abc) to product DEF (handle: def), keep only the rows with abc, then use Find and Replace to change abc to def.
💡 Don't import the full export file. Reviews that are already in your store would be imported a second time.
6. Save the file as a CSV and upload it under From your own spreadsheet on the Import tab. Tick the confirmation box and click Import reviews.
And you're done! Your reviews will now be imported within a few minutes, so give it a bit of time and refresh the reviews page.
Importing doesn't change your existing reviews. The rows in your file are added to the new product, so the reviews now show on both products. To move them instead of copying, open the old product in the Reviews tab, then select More actions → Delete all reviews for this product and confirm. Deletion runs in the background, and you'll receive an email when it finishes. This cannot be undone.
