Understanding your Vitals charges
Last updated on November 5, 2026
This article covers the All-in-One plan. If your store is on Starter, Growth, Pro or Enterprise, your plan has a fixed monthly price with no usage tiers: see Vitals plans for new installs.
Vitals charges appear on your Shopify bill, under Settings → Billing in your Shopify admin. A bill can also include other apps and Shopify services, so only the lines under Vitals come from us. This article explains each Vitals line, why an amount can differ from the pricing table, and where to check your usage. For the full tier tables, see The Vitals All-in-one Plan. For bills, invoices and currency, see Have a question about your Vitals subscription?
What each charge line means
- Monthly plan fee: the $29.99 USD fee for the All-in-One plan. Depending on how your plan is set up, it shows as the Vitals subscription charge or as a line called App Usage Fee.
- Upgrade to Tier N for …: your store's usage of a feature moved into a higher tier this month, for example Upgrade to Tier 2 for Conversion Assist. If several features moved up at the same time, one charge lists each of them on its own line.
- Back in stock SMS: … sent …: SMS notifications that Back In Stock sent beyond the free SMS included.
- AI tool charges, such as Video preview generation charges on … or a line starting with Charge for …: a paid AI tool you used after its free credits ran out. The line ends with the date of use.
The feature names on your Shopify bill differ slightly from the names in Vitals:
- Direct Revenue Assist = Direct revenue assists in Vitals
- Conversion Assist = Conversion assists
- Visitor Replays Credits = Visitor Recordings (page views recorded)
- Leads Captured = Lead capture
- Email Marketing Contacts = Email contacts
- Shipments Tracked = Shipments tracked
Why an amount isn't on the pricing table
Each tier price is the total for that feature for the month. When your store moves up a tier, Vitals charges only the difference from what you were already charged that month. For example, Conversion Assist Tier 1 is $10 and Tier 2 is $15. If your store reaches Tier 1 and later Tier 2 in the same month, you see two charges: $10, then $5.
- Usage and tiers start again from zero on the 1st of each calendar month, not on your Shopify billing date. Reaching the same tier in two months in a row creates a charge in each month.
- A Shopify bill can cover a different date range than a calendar month, so one bill can include charges from two months.
- Vitals charges in USD. Shopify may convert the amount to your local currency and add tax.
Charges during and after your free trial
- Usage tier charges are never applied during the trial. When the trial ends, only usage from that day on counts toward that month's tiers.
- The monthly plan fee starts after the trial ends.
- Pay-per-use extras, such as Back In Stock SMS and paid AI tools, are charged when you use them, also during the trial.
Check your usage in Vitals
Plan page: open Vitals → Preferences → Plan & maintenance → Plan details → View plan.
- Billing overview shows your Current invoice total and Billing date, plus Earned revenue from Assisted Sales when there is some.
- Current billing breakdown shows each feature with a usage charge this month, its amount and its tier. If there are none, it says Your subscription fully covers your current usage.
- Expand pricing tiers shows the full tier table.
- If your usage charges reach the monthly cap for your store, the page shows Monthly subscription fees are capped at … How the cap is set: see The Vitals All-in-one Plan.
The Plan page covers the current month only. For earlier months, check your past bills in Shopify.
