Trust Seals and Badges
Display premium badges to boost trust and conversions
Is this for me?
If shoppers land on your product page but hesitate at checkout — especially first-time visitors who don't know your brand — trust badges give them a quick visual cue that their order is safe. A small row of icons under the Add to Cart button (think "Secure Checkout," "30-Day Money Back," "Worldwide Shipping") can settle nerves without you having to write a word.
This app is a fit if you sell to cold traffic, run paid ads, or have a newer store still building reputation. If your brand is already well-known to your audience, the lift will be smaller.
Before you start: Only show badges that reflect what you actually offer. Displaying a "30-Day Money Back" badge when your policy is 14 days will hurt trust more than it helps.
Setup, Step by Step
- In your Vitals dashboard, open Trust Seals and Badges and turn it on.
- Open the Select badges picker and choose the badges you want. The default set (Worldwide Shipping, 30-Day Money Back, Guaranteed Safe Checkout, Accredited) works for most stores.
- Set Color to your primary brand color, and Text color for the text inside the badges. Both update the SVG artwork live.
- Pick an Alignment that matches your product page (Left, Center, or Right) and adjust Size if you want bigger or smaller badges.
- Optional: add a short phrase to Text above the badges, like "Secure Checkout Guaranteed."
- Visit a product page to confirm the badges appear where you want them. If the spot doesn't match your theme, adjust Trust Inject Selector to move them.
Tips for Getting the Most Out of It
- Match your brand, don't fight it. Use the Color setting to pull badges into your palette. Default sky-blue badges on a black-and-gold store look bolted-on and cheap.
- Less is more. Three or four well-chosen badges read as confident. Eight badges crammed in a row read as overcompensating.
- Pick badges that match your actual policies. "Worldwide Shipping" only works if you actually ship worldwide. Same for any guarantee or return window.
- Check mobile. Badges auto-scale to fit, but a row of four icons on a narrow phone screen can shrink to the point of being unreadable. Preview on your phone before publishing.
- Pair with the header text. A short phrase like "Your order is protected" above the badges turns a row of icons into a clear statement.
- Place them where they'll be seen. The default spot (right under Add to Cart) is usually best — that's exactly when the shopper is deciding. Moving them lower on the page reduces the impact.
How It Works on the Storefront
When the app is on and at least one badge is selected, a horizontal row of badge icons appears on your product page — optionally with a short text line above it. The badges are SVGs, which means they load fast and stay crisp on any screen, including retina and 4K displays.
If you don't select any badges, the widget shows nothing — no empty space, no placeholder. If a single badge fails to load for any reason, the rest still display normally.
Badges automatically display in your store's active language if it's one of the 17 supported locales (English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Arabic, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Russian, Romanian, Turkish, Japanese, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional). Anything else falls back to English.
Settings Reference
| Setting | Input Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Select badges | Text field | The list of badges to display. The default set includes Worldwide Shipping, 30-Day Money Back, Guaranteed Safe Checkout, and Accredited. Use the badge picker in the dashboard to choose from the full library. |
| Color | Color picker | The primary color applied to badge artwork and icons. Default is light blue (#63c3e5). |
| Text color | Color picker | The secondary color used for text inside the badge artwork. Default is dark gray (#303030). |
| Alignment | Dropdown | How the badge row and header text align on product pages. Options: Left, Center, Right. Default: Left. On non-product pages, badges are always centered. |
| Layout | Dropdown | The visual style of the badges (e.g., icon-only versus icon with label). Default: icon. |
| Size | Number field | Badge width as a percentage of the default. Default is 100. Badges auto-shrink to fit the container if needed. |
| Text above the badges | Text field | Optional headline above the badge row. Leave blank for badges only. Supports translations. |
| Trust Inject Selector | Text field | Controls where the widget is placed on the page. The default puts it right after the Add to Cart form. Only change this if the default spot doesn't fit your theme. |
FAQ
Where do the badges appear on my store?
By default, right under the Add to Cart button on product pages. You can move them using the available positioning tool within the app setting.
Will the badges match my store's colors?
Yes. The Color and Text color settings inject your chosen colors directly into the SVG artwork — no image editing needed.
What languages are supported?
Badges display in your store's active language for 17 locales: Arabic, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Chinese Simplified, and Chinese Traditional. Other languages fall back to English.
Will the badges look good on mobile and retina displays?
Yes. All badges are SVGs, so they stay sharp on every screen, including high-density retina and 4K.
What if I don't select any badges?
Nothing renders — no empty space or placeholder. The widget only appears when at least one badge is selected.
Can I control how large the badges are?
Yes. Use Size to scale them up or down. They also auto-shrink to fit the available width, no matter how many you display.
Can I add text above the badges?
Yes. Use Text above the badges for a short phrase like "100% Secure Checkout." Leave blank for badges only. Supports translations.
Can I put the badges somewhere other than below the Add to Cart button?
Yes. Use Trust Inject Selector to point the widget at a different element in your theme.
Do the badges slow down my page?
No meaningful impact. Badges load asynchronously, so they don't block the rest of the page from rendering. If one fails to load, it's skipped silently.
