Best Sellers Protection on Shopify with Vitals: features, pricing and setup
Last updated on October 22, 2026
Yes, Vitals can hide the "Best selling" sort option on your Shopify collection pages. The Vitals app (Vitals: Reviews, Bundles & 40+ on the Shopify App Store) includes Best Sellers Protection, so visitors cannot sort your collections to list your top sellers at a glance. It comes in the same plan as product reviews, bundles and 40+ other apps.
Best Sellers Protection at a glance
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What it does | Removes the "Best selling" option from your theme's sort control. A collection opened with ?sort_by=best-selling is reloaded in the manual sort order instead. |
| Where it works | Collection pages |
| Options | None. The app is a single on/off switch. |
| Limits | It does not hide products, prices or sales from browser extensions that a visitor installs in their own browser. On themes or filter apps with a custom sort dropdown, the option may stay visible. Other sort options cannot be hidden. |
| Pricing | Included in the Vitals All-in-One plan, $29.99/month, with a 7-day free trial. See the Shopify App Store listing for current pricing. |
Use this app to prevent competitors from snooping around by automatically hiding the best selling sort option on your collection pages. The app does 2 things:
- If you have a sort options dropdown on your collections pages, it removes the "Best selling" option.
- If a competitor tries to append this string - ?sort_by=best-selling - at the end of your collection page URL, Vitals reloads the page with this string instead - ?sort_by=manual - basically making sure the competitor will not see your best-sellers.
Check this Products link, for example, where you'll find the ?sort_by=best-selling link redirected to ?sort_by=manual.
You should know, however, that this is not a bullet-proof solution against a developer. For example, they might stop our app from running in their own browser and have access to all your best-sellers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Vitals have an app to hide best sellers on Shopify?
Yes. Best Sellers Protection hides the "Best selling" sort option on collection pages. Turn it on in Vitals > Apps > Best Sellers Protection with Activate Best Sellers Protection.
Does it block product spy browser extensions?
No. Those extensions run in the browser of the person who installed them, and no Shopify app can block them. Your other visitors do not see them.
Can I hide other sort options, such as price or newest?
No. Only the "Best selling" option is hidden, on all collection pages.
