Shoppable Instagram Feed: Important Update Regarding Instagram API Changes

⚠️ Important update

Instagram is changing its platform, which affects how the Shoppable Instagram Feed app connects to your account. To avoid interruption in service, you must reconnect your Instagram account to the app before December 4th, 2024.

What's happening?

Instagram is updating its API (application programming interface). The Instagram Basic Display API will no longer be available after December 4th, 2024. The Shoppable Instagram Feed used this API to connect to your Instagram account. We have already migrated to the new API, but you will need to reconnect your Instagram account manually to reactivate your Shoppable Instagram Feed.

What does this mean for you?

After December 4th, 2024, your Shoppable Instagram feed may stop working if you don't reconnect your account. Only Instagram business and creator accounts will be supported after this update. If you currently use a personal Instagram account, you must switch to a business or creator account to continue using the app.

How to reconnect your account:

  1. Go to Vitals and find the Shoppable Instagram Feed app.

  2. Disconnect your account. You can find screenshots of this process below.

  3. Click “Connect with Instagram” to reconnect your account.

  4. Allow Instagram permissions when prompted.

(You might see this step if you don't have an Instagram Professional Account)

👉 Note: Make sure you are logged into the Instagram account you want to use before connecting.
