Disabling Google's reCAPTCHA

Shopify recently introduced the option to have Google's reCAPTCHA enabled on your store, as shown in the official article here: Setting your online store preferences.

With that, if the option is enabled, it will show on your store as seen in the screenshot below:

To disable Shopify's bot protection, in the Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Preferences and then uncheck the box labeled Enable Google reCAPTCHA on storefront contact pages.

Vitals uses the same reCAPTCHA feature for our apps to help prevent bot abuse:

  • Pop-Ups
  • Announcement Bars

Please keep in mind that the only way of completely removing the reCAPTCHA badge from your store is to disable both the option from Shopify and the corresponding options from these apps in Vitals.
