Facebook Pixels FAQs
How to backup a pixel?
How to confirm that the pixels are firing correctly?
One way would be to check this in your Facebook Account, where data tracked by the pixel is sent. Our app acts as a host for the pixels. All the tracked data goes to your Facebook pixel page in your Ads Manager.
Your pixel is correctly firing if it sends information to this page, and you can see the activity. Read more about this here.
Better yet, you can use Facebook’s Pixel Helper extension from Chrome. It helps you check if your pixel is firing on each page.
A special case is the Initiate Checkout event - as apps do not work in the Shopify checkout, we fire the IC event when the checkout button is clicked in the cart.
What does the 'New domain sending data' warning mean?
When you use the Editor to customize the placement of various Vitals apps, your store is loaded in a container within the Editor. Shopify's scripts load and run on that page, just as on the real store, and the pixel added to Shopify is fired as well. However, this time, it's fired on the vitals.app
domain, the domain that hosts our app.
Given that only you can access the Vitals Editor and you also access your own store directly, this will not affect your audiences in any way.
You can either ignore the warning or create a list containing only your domains - and the pixel would not fire from another domain such as ours. Here are Facebook's instructions.
