Connect Klaviyo to Vitals in three steps
Last updated on October 31, 2026
Vitals sends the email addresses you capture with Spin the Wheel, Pop-ups, and the Email Capture Bar straight into a Klaviyo list, and can also send shopper activity from your Vitals apps so you can build flows and segments on what happened in your store.
💡 Before you start: create at least one list in Klaviyo under Audience → Lists & Segments. Vitals asks you to pick one during setup.
1. Open Integrations in Vitals. From the Vitals dashboard, go to Integrations and select Connect Klaviyo.
2. Approve Vitals in Klaviyo. You'll be taken to Klaviyo to review the permissions Vitals is asking for, and select Allow. You'll be returned to Vitals automatically. You do not need to create or paste an API key.
3. Choose your list. Pick the Klaviyo list that should receive captured emails and click Select list. Emails captured from then on are added to it.
Manage Klaviyo events
Open the Klaviyo card in Integrations and find the Klaviyo events section. When you first connect Klaviyo, events are turned on for Product Reviews, Back in Stock, Wishlist, Upsell Builder, Pop-ups, and Order Tracker. Turn off any apps you do not want to send events from, then save your changes. Reconnecting an existing connection keeps your choices.
With a working Klaviyo connection, each of these apps' pages also shows the events it can send to Klaviyo. It shows On only when the app's event toggle is enabled and Klaviyo can receive events. Select the link there to open the Klaviyo card in Integrations and change the setting.
If you have an enabled app that can send Klaviyo events, select See flow ideas on the Klaviyo card. It opens Flow ideas for your apps, with starter flow ideas for each enabled app, including the Klaviyo trigger, what to send, and instructions for building the flow in Klaviyo. Flow ideas are shown for enabled apps even if that app's event toggle is off.
Apps enabled in your store appear first under Apps you use. You can show or hide the remaining apps under Other apps. If no apps that can send Klaviyo events are enabled, all event switches appear in one list.
Choose who appears in Klaviyo. For new Klaviyo connections, events are sent by default for any shopper Vitals can identify by email. Existing connections keep their saved audience choice. Save your changes after updating an app toggle or the audience setting.
An event is sent only when the relevant Vitals app is active on your live store and its Klaviyo toggle is turned on. Events appear in Klaviyo with the Vitals logo, so you can tell them apart from other apps' events.
Turning on events does not create, copy, or change your Klaviyo flows. Your existing flows, lists, and list sync keep working as before. Events are new metrics, so nothing happens until you build a flow that uses them.
Avoid duplicate emails. Product Reviews and Back in Stock can each send their own emails. Before you build a Klaviyo flow for the same moment, choose one sender: keep the Vitals email, or turn it off in the app and let Klaviyo send it. The Back in Stock restock alert is always sent by Vitals and cannot be turned off, so do not build a Klaviyo flow that sends the same restock alert. Only the signup confirmation and reminder emails have switches.
What Vitals sends to Klaviyo
- Email addresses captured by Spin the Wheel, Pop-ups, and the Email Capture Bar, subscribed to the list you chose
- When a Vitals pop-up or wheel discount code is used, a Pop-up Discount Redeemed event with the code and the pop-up name
- Events from the Vitals apps you turned on, for example a review submitted, an upsell offer selected, accepted or ordered, or a product added to a wishlist
To do this, Vitals reads your Klaviyo account name and your lists, and checks whether a shopper already has a profile in your account. It does not read your campaigns, flows, or templates.
What you can build with it
- Trigger a flow when someone selects an upsell offer but doesn't order it
- Thank shoppers who leave a review, or segment by who reviewed through Vitals
- Segment by who used a Vitals pop-up discount
Disconnecting. Select Disconnect on the Klaviyo card in Vitals. This also revokes Vitals' access inside your Klaviyo account. You can reconnect at any time.
30 days after you uninstall Vitals, and Wishlist by Square if you use it too, Vitals removes your Klaviyo connection, list settings and event choices.
ℹ️ Already connected with an API key? Your existing connection keeps working, but it cannot send Klaviyo events. The Send your app activity to Klaviyo banner lets you switch to the new connection without interrupting list syncing. If you have an app that can send Klaviyo events enabled, the banner stays visible until you switch. Otherwise, you can dismiss it.
