Displaying Review Highlights on your Product Pages

Review Highlights puts a compact carousel of your strongest reviews right on the product page. It picks them for you: pinned reviews show first, followed by your most recent 5-star reviews that have written feedback. Instead of scrolling to the review section, shoppers see at a glance what buyers are saying — which builds trust and helps move them toward a purchase.

Enabling Review Highlights

Open your Shopify admin and go to Vitals → Product Reviews, then Settings → Widgets → Review Highlights → Customize. Turn on "Display Review Highlights automatically on product page". There is nothing to write or curate manually — the widget fills itself from your published reviews.

Placement

Review Highlights supports automatic placement in four locations on the product page:

  • Near the product description
  • Above the review form
  • Next to the Add to Cart button (the default)
  • At the end of the product page

If you'd rather control the exact position yourself, you have two options:

  • Shopify theme editor — in the Display manually panel, click Go to Shopify Editor and place the Review Highlights block wherever you want it. This is the recommended route on Online Store 2.0 themes.
  • HTML element — add an element with the ID vitals-review_highlights  anywhere in your theme. Placing the widget manually overrides the automatic placement.

Key settings

  • Automatic placement — select where the highlights block appears on the product page.
  • Number of reviews — a slider controlling how many reviews the carousel displays (default 5, maximum 10). It doesn't change which reviews qualify — the pool is always the product's 5-star reviews that have text, pinned ones first.
  • Show review media — display the photos and videos customers attached to their reviews.
  • Arrow style — six navigation arrow variants (round or square, each in halo, outline or filled) to match your store's look.

Design

The Design card controls how the highlights look:

  • Card background and text color, star color, and arrow color.
  • Show shadow and Show border, with a border color option when the border is on.
  • Card corner radius and Media corner radius.
  • Review text size.
  • Separate top and bottom margins for desktop and mobile.
