Theme Section - Flash Sale Countdown

Boost urgency and drive conversions with the Flash Sale Countdown section! This theme element allows you to highlight limited-time offers using a real-time countdown timer — perfect for flash sales, exclusive promos, and holiday events.

Installing the Flash Sale Countdown theme section to your Shopify theme

Before going to the Shopify Theme Editor to insert this theme section, you would first need to install it first from the Vitals app.

Once you have successfully installed the theme section, you can now go to the Shopify Theme Editor and insert it by clicking Add section > Vitals: Flash Sale Countdown:

Customizing the Flash Sale Countdown Theme Section

Customization is simple and intuitive through Shopify’s Theme Editor:

  1. Select the Section

    • In the left sidebar, click on the newly added section.

      Adjust Settings

    • The customizable settings for the section will appear in the right sidebar.

    • You can modify elements such as the color and positioning of the theme section to fit your needs.

      Preview Your Changes

    • Use the live preview to ensure the section fits perfectly on your storefront.

Here are some of the settings that can be changed:

Flash Sale Countdown - Main Section

General

  • Timer position on desktop -> left or right
  • Timer position on mobile -> above content or below content
  • Text alignment on desktop -> left, center or right
  • Text alignment on mobile -> left, center or right

Design

  • Section background - a Color or a Gradient (with an optional gradient animation)

Layout

  • Section width (in percent)
  • Custom max width (optional)
  • Top-bottom padding for Desktop and Mobile
  • Top-bottom margin for Desktop and Mobile

Custom CSS -> If you are familiar with CSS, You can also enter your custom CSS statements for additional flexibility

Flash Sale Countdown - Heading, Caption, Description and Button blocks

Edit the text around the timer, and add a button with its label, link, style and colors.

Flash Sale Countdown - Countdown timer block

  • End date - type it as MM-DD-YYYY (for example 12-31-2026; YYYY-MM-DD also works)
  • End time - chosen in half-hour steps. The countdown ends at this date and time in your store's time zone (Shopify Settings > General), for every shopper.
  • Hide entire section after countdown ends - on by default; the whole section disappears once the timer runs out
  • Completed message and its color - shown when the countdown completes, if the section stays visible
  • Countdown timer size, numbers style and color, and the days / hours / min / sec labels (or Show only numbers)

  • Use bold, clear text to draw attention
  • Set a short countdown (24-48 hours) to increase urgency
  • Pair with a strong discount or incentive
